In what's become a running theme this season, the Early County Bobcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They really took it to Calhoun County for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-25 victory at home. With Early County ahead 34-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Early County was led to victory by Lakevia Stamper and Jacorra Russell. Stamper scored 14 points along with six steals, while Russell scored 16 points along with eight steals and two blocks. Russell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Ty'Jerrica Russell was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Early County pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Calhoun County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Early County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Quitman County at 6:00 p.m. Quitman County has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 10. Calhoun County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mitchell County at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Mitchell County is ranked 492nd, while Calhoun County is ranked 468th).
