The Grass Lake Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Homer Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Grass Lake 3.4, Homer 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Grass Lake is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Vandercook Lake with a sharp 17-0 win on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Morgan ?Mo? Conrad (2026) was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Conrad (2026) was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Bree Salts (2025) was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 4.5 RBI per game. Emily Brown (2025) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Grass Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Homer never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Leslie on Monday. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Blackhawks. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Trojans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Lani Miller and Brooklen Minix did most of the damage at the plate: Miller went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Minix went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Miller has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Leyla Bunker, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Homer has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Grass Lake, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Grass Lake came out on top in a nail-biter against Homer in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 11-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
