The Santa Fe Chiefs will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Esperanza Aztecs at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Santa Fe pushed their score all the way to 58 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-58 to Castaic. While losing is never fun, Santa Fe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1158th, while Castaic is ranked 444th).
Meanwhile, Esperanza came up short against Mission Viejo on Thursday and fell 63-52. Esperanza has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Santa Fe bumped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Esperanza, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
