Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the Tampa Prep Terrapins proved on Friday. They blew past Jefferson 74-40 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Tampa Prep.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tampa Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chandler White Brooks, who scored 26 points along with 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which White Brooks has scored at least 25% of Tampa Prep's points. J'London Bivens was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Loss or not, Jefferson got some senior leadership from Lazzaro Ford who scored 15 points along with 3 steals and Emanuel Robinson who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds. The match was Ford's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camari Bell, who scored 3 points.
Tampa Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tampa Prep will challenge Dunedin at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dunedin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Robinson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 259 points over their last four games.
