Grayson Gibson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Gibson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Johnathan Corona, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Fort Walton Beach, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8.
