Broadalbin-Perth had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it 11. They fell 11-7 to the Scotia-Glenville Tartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Adrianna Smith put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. Smith was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Sam Soper was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
As for Scotia-Glenville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games.
On Scotia-Glenville's side, Carly Mott spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Mott.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hailey Suits, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luciana Goodell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
