Basketball Recap: Mclaurin Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely McLaurin's strategy against Enterprise on Friday. The McLaurin Tigers walked away with a 63-50 win over the Enterprise Bulldogs. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McLaurin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Wallace, who posted 22 points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds. Those eight steals gave Wallace a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton White, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

McLaurin has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Enterprise, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

McLaurin has already played their next game, a 33-24 win against Noxubee County on the 25th. Enterprise has also already played their next match (against Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
