Skowhegan is a perfect 10-0 against Mt. Blue since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The River Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Skowhegan has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Skowhegan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edward Little on Thursday. Even though they lost, the River Hawks' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Jackson Hight was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Blue came up short against Oxford Hills on Thursday, falling 8-2. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mt. Blue also got a good showing from Aiden Wilkins, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Wilkins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jax Vienneau made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Mt. Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Skowhegan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Skowhegan took their win against Mt. Blue in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the River Hawks repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
