Big Seven recap October 22, 2013
Holton extended the longest winning streak in Big Seven this week by beating Wamego, 56-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Holton took down the Red Raiders 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Austin Kurtz was the best running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 159 yards as Perry-Lecompton lost to Eudora. Taylor Spencer also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.
The Chargers' Weston Gloss and Mundy have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Gloss has thrown for 1,173 yards this season, while Mundy has 49 catches for 772 yards. Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]'s Drew Hoffman leads the league in rushing yards with 742.
A big matchup in Big Seven this week will be when Hiawatha takes on the Cyclones. The Red Hawks are currently in fifth, while Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] is in second.
