The Willcox Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Seton Catholic, falling 65-37. While losing is never fun, Willcox can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Seton Catholic is ranked 76th).
It was another big night for Luke Padilla, who scored 15 points along with three steals for Seton Catholic. The contest was Padilla's third in a row with at least ten points. Kj Fauske was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Willcox's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Seton Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willcox will challenge Benson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Seton Catholic and Show Low will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Show Low will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
