It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-36, which was the final score in Schenectady's tilt against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Friday. While losing is never fun, Schenectady can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake is ranked 224th).
Meanwhile, Shaker lost to Columbia at home by a decisive 57-42 margin on Tuesday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Peyton Hoblock, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Giada Lanni, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Schenectady's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Shaker, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Schenectady was dealt a bruising 66-28 defeat at the hands of Shaker in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Schenectady was down 40-9.
