Madison came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They rang in the new year with a 61-51 victory over the Chardon Hilltoppers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Streaks also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Madison pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Chardon, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.

Madison won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Perry at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. Perry knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Madison likes a good challenge. As for Chardon, they and Chagrin Falls will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
