The Florida College Academy Falcons were the 48-36 winner over the Excel Christian Academy Spartans when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Florida College Academy was dealt a 44-12 defeat at the hands of Excel Christian Academy on Friday. Florida College Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Excel Christian Academy was led to victory by Soleil DeJesus and Anyla Parker. DeJesus scored 20 points along with two steals, while Parker dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Parker has scored at least a third of Excel Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Aysia Mertz, who scored three points along with three steals.
Florida College Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Excel Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Florida College Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Classical Christian School for the Arts at 6:30 p.m. As for Excel Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Central Pointe Christian Academy National on Thursday. Central Pointe Christian Academy National presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Excel Christian Academy in Florida (Central Pointe Christian Academy National is ranked second, while Excel Christian Academy is ranked 251st).
