Even though the Hurley Rebels scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the River View Raiders still came out on top. River View sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 victory over Hurley. That's another feather in the cap for River View, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
River View can attribute much of their success to Jackson Danielson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Newberry, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
River View's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hurley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River View will take on Richwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hurley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tolsia at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
