Penns Grove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Cinnaminson Pirates at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Penns Grove scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Pennsville Memorial by a score of 75-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Penns Grove found their leader in underclassman Ka'Ron Ceaser, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Ceaser scored 15 or more points. Giomar Conrad was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Cinnaminson came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 64-48 victory over Pemberton. Given Cinnaminson's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Pemberton is ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Penns Grove is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Cinnaminson, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
