Make it eight blowout wins for the Wasatch Wasps this season. They were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over Springville. The win was familiar territory for Wasatch who now have five in a row.
Ashley Garner was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Danielle Garner was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Springville lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Natalie Florence, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Esplin, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Wasatch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Springville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wasatch will take on the Thunderbirds at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Timpview is ranked ninth, while the Wasps are ranked 14th). As for Springville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aviators at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
