The Mission Oak Hawks and the Palma Chieftains squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Mission Oak Hawks had to settle for second. They suffered a rough 42-19 defeat at the hands of the Chieftains. Mission Oak's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Mission Oak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Daniel Gonzalez. Despite the final result, he threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Eli Dukes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Palma, rushing for 212 yards and four touchdowns. Dukes set a new season high mark in carries with 31. Palma also got a significant boost from Thomas Nunes, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Mission Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Palma, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Mission Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palma also has no future games currently scheduled.
