The Audubon Green Wave will head out on the road to face off against the Schalick Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Audubon has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Schalick will arrive with nine straight wins.
Last Saturday, Audubon came up short against Paulsboro and fell 14-7.
Meanwhile, Schalick stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Gloucester Catholic with a sharp 42-20 win. Given Schalick's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Gloucester Catholic is ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Audubon's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.7 points per game. As for Schalick, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Audubon was able to grind out a solid win over Schalick in their previous meeting back in September of 2019, winning 14-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Audubon since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
