Hubbertville is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Pickens Academy is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hubbertville Lions will welcome the Pickens Academy Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hubbertville will bounce into Friday's match after beating Lynn, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Hubbertville walked away with a 6-1 victory over Lynn on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cruz Kizzire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. Hubbertville is undefeated when Kizzire allowsthree or fewer hits, but 2-6 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blaize Wakefield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Pickens Academy put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Aliceville. Pickens Academy was the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Aliceville. Considering the Pirates have won five games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Dalton Crowe and Griffin Hudson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Crowe pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hudson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Crowe has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Crowe went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, while Hudson scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most hits Crowe has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Brayden Sansing was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Braden Banks was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Pickens Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win snapped Hubbertville's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-6 record. As for Pickens Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
