The Social Circle Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 56-47 to Putnam County. While losing is never fun, Social Circle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Putnam County is ranked 99th).
Putnam County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamyra Aikens, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Journey Waller, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Social Circle has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Putnam County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Social Circle will head out on the road to face off against Eastside at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Putnam County, they will be playing at home against Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westside comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
