There's no place like home for Wonewoc-Center, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Brookwood Falcons on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Brooklynn Bolton made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Bolton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Callissa Keller, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Olivia Olson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Wonewoc-Center hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brookwood struck out eight times.
