Gracie Longhurst spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mckynlie Cook was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bonneville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Malad waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Hornets 11-2. Considering the Dragons have won 16 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Riglee Peterson made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Peterson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Maroney, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Hadlee Summers was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Malad pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Bonneville, their record now sits at 12-8.
