It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Berry Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 victory over the Stallions. The victory was some much needed relief for Berry as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Maggie Mauldin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Rylee Hill was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Berry's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-18. As for South Lamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-13.
Berry will head out on the road to face off against the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Spirit Catholic is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. South Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
