Basketball Recap: Veritas Collegiate Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Veritas Collegiate Academy proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 22) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the King's Christian Academy Eagles out 71-69. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on three straight.

King's Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Williams, who went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Earl B. Edmonds, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals.

Veritas Collegiate Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for King's Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Veritas Collegiate Academy will venture away from home to challenge Mt. Zion Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Zion Prep Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Veritas Collegiate Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for King's Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-55 defeat against Prince George Academy Blue on the 9th.
