Madison had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Belle Fourche Broncs to the tune of 35-0 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Broncs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Madison was led to victory by Caleb Hodges and Shane Veenhof. Hodges rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs, while Veenhof picked up 116 receiving yards and one touchdown. Veenhof was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 51 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Madison's defense and their nine sacks. It was truly a group effort as Veenhof, Caleb Pettersen, and Tyan Braskamp picked up two apiece.
Madison wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 21-20 victory against Dell Rapids on the 5th. As for Belle Fourche, they have also already played their next game, a 48-16 loss against West Central on the 5th.
