Roxana is 2-7 against Pana since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Roxana Shells will stay at home for another game and welcome the Pana Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on January 15th. Hopefully Roxana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
Roxana scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They strolled past Freeburg with points to spare, taking the game 61-46.
Chris Walleck continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Briggs, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Pana's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-32 walloping at the hands of Marquette Catholic. While losing is never fun, Pana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while Marquette Catholic is ranked 159th).
Roxana has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Pana, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Roxana might still be hurting after the 59-39 defeat they got from Pana in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Will Roxana have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
