Madison-Ridgeland Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Jackson Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Madison-Ridgeland Academy's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Jackson Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between Madison-Ridgeland Academy and Presbyterian Christian, and Madison-Ridgeland Academy kept the tradition alive. The Patriots came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 7-2 on Friday.

Rhett Taylor looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Madison-Ridgeland Academy let Gunnar Swanson and Will Bizot run wild. Swanson scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Bizot scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs Bizot has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Holt Adams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Jackson Academy faced Hartfield Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raiders might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-1 to the Hawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost nine in a row.
Jackson Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jed Rodden, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Josh Dockins, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Madison-Ridgeland Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Madison-Ridgeland Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jackson Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Madison-Ridgeland Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Jackson Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 6-2. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
