Wiregrass Ranch has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Land O' Lakes Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wiregrass Ranch is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Land O' Lakes in Florida (Wiregrass Ranch is ranked 104th, while Land O' Lakes is ranked 281st).
Last Friday, Wiregrass Ranch beat Booker 30-21.
Wiregrass Ranch had a senior duo take command as Jeremiah Julmiste gained 141 total yards and two touchdowns and Luke Knight threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Land O' Lakes had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Sunlake with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 20-6. The win was just what Land O' Lakes needed coming off of a 23-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Land O' Lakes' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mason Clarke, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Cody Gwinn, who rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Wiregrass Ranch's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points per game. As for Land O' Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Wiregrass Ranch took a serious blow against Land O' Lakes in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 43-7. Can Wiregrass Ranch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
