Basketball Recap: Siah Blot Key Part of a Team Effort in Patriots Win

Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Miramar proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Central Rockets 70-68. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rockets, too.

Miramar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Siah Blot out in front who went 7 for 17 en route to 23 points. Blot is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Skinner, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards.

Miramar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Keri Foster, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlon Gaitan, who went 5 for 11 en route to 16 points.

Miramar's record now sits at 16-8. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season.

Miramar has already played their next game, a 50-37 win against Deerfield Beach on the 30th. As for Central, they will head out to take on Royal Palm Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Royal Palm Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.
