Windsor and Napa are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Windsor Jaguars will host the Napa Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Windsor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Windsor took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Ukiah get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.
Kaihla Jarvinen made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haley Homan, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Demi Lagourgue, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Windsor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Napa's offense. They came up short against Wood on Tuesday, falling 17-0. The Grizzlies' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Windsor now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Napa, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Napa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Windsor hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Napa, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Windsor's hitters?
Windsor suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Napa when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Windsor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
