Plain Dealing and Homer are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Lions will square off against the Pelicans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Plain Dealing has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Plain Dealing fell victim to Haynesville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 11-0 to the Gldn Tornado. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since March 19th.

Cade DeMoss made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last six games he's played.
Homer never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bossier on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Bearkats. The Pelicans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
Delario Jones was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI and four runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Willis, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Homer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
The defeat snapped Plain Dealing's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-12-1 record. As for Homer, they moved to 17-15 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Plain Dealing has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .468. However, it's not like Homer struggles in that department as they've averaged .557. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Plain Dealing might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Homer when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
