Wells dropped their record down to 24-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's 17-game streak of wins. They fell 5-2 to the Smith Valley Bulldogs. The game marked the Leopards' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Smith Valley, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs.

For Smith Valley's part, Wyatt Wulfing was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over 5.1 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Wulfing a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Lannom, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Cole Balda was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
