Douglas is 1-9 against Stevens since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Patriots will host the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Stevens took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Douglas, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Douglas turned things around against Belle Fourche on Thursday. They blew past the Broncs 3-0.
Douglas not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Belle Fourche between 18 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Stevens faced Mitchell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders fell just short of the Kernels by a score of 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Stevens actually scored more points across those five sets (115-109), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 28-26, 18-25, 20-25, 16-14.
Douglas picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 5-16. As for Stevens, their loss dropped their record down to 21-4.
