Basketball Recap: Bradley Dodson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Golden Sierra over Vacaville Christian

Golden Sierra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vacaville Christian Falcons. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bradley Dodson, who went 8 for 15 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points. With that strong performance, Dodson is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Connor Warren was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vacaville Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Laxamana, who went 11 for 17 on his way to 24 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The match was Laxamana's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Eddings, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Golden Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Vacaville Christian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Golden Sierra wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-54 victory against Rio Vista on the 10th. As for Vacaville Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-58 win against Mesa Verde on the 10th.
