The Birch Run Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 49-29 walloping at the hands of Frankenmuth. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Birch Run has scored all season.
Carson Knoll continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Frankenmuth, scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Hubbard, who scored six points.
Birch Run's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for Frankenmuth, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Birch Run will stay at home for another game and welcome Bridgeport at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. Frankenmuth will take on Flint Southwestern Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flint Southwestern Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 655th, while Frankenmuth is ranked 168th).
