Hackleburg has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Brilliant Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hackleburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Brilliant likes a good challenge.
Hackleburg scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Phillips at home to the tune of 79-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Hackleburg has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Brilliant's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 96-36 loss at the hands of Marion County. While losing is never fun, Brilliant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while Marion County is ranked 96th).
Hackleburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Brilliant, they bumped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Hackleburg came up short against Brilliant in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 72-68. Can Hackleburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
