The third road matchup was the charm for The Pecos Eagles, as they earned their first road win of the season. They snuck past Clint with a 27-21 win on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Pecos, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Johnny Morales continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 211 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Pecos also got help from Jonathan Sandoval who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why Clint lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colin Ivey. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Pecos' win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Clint, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5.
Pecos will take on Fort Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Corbin Luna and Morales. As for Clint, they will head out on the road to face off against Fabens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fabens is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
