The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wilcox Central, who took down 261st ranked Escambia County, 14-0.
The Jaguars scaled the state rankings by moving to 314 from 351 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region 1. Wilcox Central was able to make move up by defeating the Blue Devils 14-0.
UMS-Wright Prep's dynamic duo of Gunner Roach and Jaylon Jones proved tough for Thomasville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Roach threw for 144 yards and Jones had 77 yards receiving.
The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Roach and Jones proved to be unstoppable against the Tigers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Roach put up the best numbers through the air as UMS-Wright Prep topped Thomasville.
Michael McCalman was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 166 yards on 22 carries as Andalusia beat Jack Hankins' team. Teammate Derrick Dorsey added to the ground attack by rushing for 101 yards.
McCalman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Bulldogs beat Hillcrest. McCalman's favorite target this week was Brayden Burkhardt, who caught 2 passes for 52 yards.
Jones was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bulldogs defeated the Tigers.
UMS-Wright Prep's Roach and Jones have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Region 1 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Roach has thrown for 470 yards this season, while Jones has 15 catches for 280 yards. McCalman from Andalusia leads the league in rushing with 433 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Thomasville takes on Brian Seymore's team. The Tigers are in third place, while the Bulldogs are in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Thomasville takes on Andalusia. The Tigers have allowed 47 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 41. Thomasville allowed 28 points last week as it lost to the Bulldogs.
Monroe County lost to Clarke County 61-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
