The River View Panthers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Liberty Lancers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (River View has five straight victories, Liberty has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, River View earned a 26-13 victory over Columbia.
River View found their leader in underclassman Karson Rawlings, who rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Liberty had to suffer through a rough 54-13 loss at the hands of Reardan.
River View's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.2 points per game. As for Liberty, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
River View ended up a good deal behind Liberty when the teams last played back in November of 2022, losing 28-14. Will River View have more luck at home instead of on the road?
