After both having extra time off, the Word of God Academy Force and the Providence Classical Academy Knights will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Word of God Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Friday.
Last Friday, Word of God Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Faith Training Christian Academy, taking the game 42-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Word of God Academy.
Shiloh Brokenberry was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with four steals. The matchup was her tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brynn Jordan , who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Providence Classical Academy in a 41-25 win over Marshall Christian Academy last Saturday. Given Providence Classical Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 105th in Louisiana, while Marshall Christian Academy is ranked 1148th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Word of God Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Providence Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Word of God Academy was dealt a bruising 52-22 loss at the hands of Providence Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in November. Can Word of God Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
