While Mountain View's win against Valley View wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Cougars 3-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Mountain View got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 18-25, 15-11.

Mountain View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Kilmer out in front who had 16 kills, 11 blocks, and ten digs. Kilmer is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now had two or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Tompkins, who had ten aces, nine kills, six digs, and three blocks.
Mountain View was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Valley View's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Monica Orellana, who had 18 digs. Another player making a difference was Layla Marino, who had eight digs and five aces.
Mountain View now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Valley View, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.
