After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Overton, the Arapahoe Warriors were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 52-27 margin over Lawrence-Nelson.
Leading Arapahoe to victory were Berkley Warner and Clara Hilker. Warner scored 14 points along with 9 steals and 6 rebounds, while Hilker scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Warner has scored at least 25% of Arapahoe's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Larson, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
When it comes to explaining why Lawrence-Nelson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kara Menke. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. Menke scored a full 44.4% of Lawrence-Nelson's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Arapahoe back to even at 1-1. As for Lawrence-Nelson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Arapahoe will face off against Medicine Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin on Friday.
