The Paradise Panthers won the last time they faced the Whitesboro Bearcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Paradise managed a 37-32 victory over Whitesboro. Given Paradise's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Whitesboro is ranked 659th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Paradise's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Channing Beauvais, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Morgan Mitschke was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Paradise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Whitesboro, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-15.
Paradise will head out on the road to square off against S & S Consolidated at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. S & S Consolidated is on a five-game streak of home wins, Paradise a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Whitesboro will take on Pilot Point at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pilot Point has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
