Forbush will head out to face North Surry after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Forbush took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Wilkes.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tyler Winters, who threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (109 yards to be exact) went to Joseph Barnes, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led North Surry over Wilkes Central in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. North Surry was the clear victor by a 47-21 margin over Wilkes Central. Zamarri Sweatman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 327 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Fisher Leftwich, who picked up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Surry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Forbush's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Surry, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
