Baseball Recap: Lake Mills Extends Winning Streak to Five

Lake Mills put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Marshall Cardinals by a score of 11-8. The L-Cats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Ace Everson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Stelter, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Will Kirchberg was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Lake Mills' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Marshall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Lake Mills is taking a road trip to take on New Glarus at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshall, they will host Luther Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
