Christopher has won three straight games at home, while Live Oak has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Cougars will welcome the Acorns at 4:00 p.m. Christopher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Christopher's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Silver Creek as they made off with a 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.
Audrina Cabanlit made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cabanlit was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Christopher got a massive performance out of Chevelle Quistian, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Quistian's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Lugo, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Christopher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Live Oak sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Piedmont Hills on Wednesday.
Live Oak let Quinn Hulber-Dana and Kayla Tulowitzki run wild. Hulber-Dana went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Tulowitzki earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Live Oak is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Christopher, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Christopher hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Live Oak struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Christopher might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Live Oak in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
