The Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Pipestem Christian Academy Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Christian Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Jefferson Christian Academy lost to Mercer Christian Academy at home by a decisive 54-39 margin. While losing is never fun, Jefferson Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 309th in Virginia, while Mercer Christian Academy is ranked 81st in West Virginia).
Meanwhile, Pipestem Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 86-56 loss at the hands of Appalachian Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Pipestem Christian Academy has suffered yet this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Silas Mattox, who scored 16 points along with five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Enoch Gonderman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Jefferson Christian Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Pipestem Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Jefferson Christian Academy came up short against Pipestem Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 57-50. Can Jefferson Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
