Baseball Recap: Clover Hill Gets the Win

Clover Hill's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cosby Titans, sneaking past 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Keller Williams looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carson Hupp, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. James Nigriny was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Clover Hill's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Cosby, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2-1.

The Rapids will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cosby, they will take on L.C. Bird at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans are facing the Skyhawks at the right time seeing as the Skyhawks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
