The result came thanks to Jacob Snyder's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dallas Downey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Joe Washburn was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Glenn beat Wheeler 7-3 on Thursday.
Brendin Hodges spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has become a key player for Glenn: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Mekhi Pulluaim and Leland Allison did most of the damage at the plate: Pulluaim went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Allison went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Allison has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Hamel, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
South Bend Saint Joseph's record now sits at 23-6. As for Glenn, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Everything went South Bend Saint Joseph's way against Glenn when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as South Bend Saint Joseph made off with a 12-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
