Lisle is 8-2 against the Wildcats since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wilmington took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lisle, who comes in off a win.
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Lisle's strategy against the Coalers on Wednesday. Lisle enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over the Coalers.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Wilmington's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coal City.
Despite their defeat, Wilmington saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Reid Juster, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Nelson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Wilmington struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lisle's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Wilmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Lisle beat the Wildcats 46-39 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lisle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
